Speak Out have been asked to pilot a carers advocacy service.
Our aim is to ensure that carers views are heard and their rights upheld. We help by providing information that will allow carers to make informed choices about their caring role and issues affecting them. Caring can be a lonely role, and Speak Out can be an extra voice by offering support to enable carers to speak out for themselves and to explore their options.
How can Speak Out help?
Advocacy may be of help when carers are experiencing difficulties with some of the following:
• Sourcing information in relation to a specific issue.
• Support to attend meetings/reviews
• Support with transitions
• Help to access social work & other carers support services.
• Understanding Self-directed support
